Job Description

We are seeking a Level 2 Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will work independently to design and develop innovative solutions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You’ll analyze project requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and produce detailed engineering drawings to optimize performance and manufacturability.

You will also play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and leading at least one improvement project annually.

Key Responsibilities

General Engineering:

• Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Act as a responsible lead on projects and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify, suggest, and lead at least one continuous improvement project per year.

Technical Expertise:

• Design complete projects, systems, components, or processes.
• Prepare comprehensive plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Conduct investigations, perform analysis, and interpret test data.

Project Management:

• Provide guidance to junior engineers as needed.
• Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work, including scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Contribute to proposals for engineering projects or funding programs.

Leadership & Communication:

• Mentor and provide professional guidance to junior staff.
• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrate empathy and critical listening skills to foster collaboration.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or a related field.
• Intermediate to professional understanding of SolidWorks.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed designs and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing commercial aircraft interiors or spacecraft interiors.
• Familiarity with Windchill PDM systems.

Additional Information:

• Travel Requirements: Less than 10% annually.
